Global Selection Programme Entry 2024
Information and conditions:
Thank you for applying to UWC via the Global Selection Programme, for entry into the IB Diploma Programme in September 2024 (January 2025 at Waterford Kamhlaba UWC of Southern Africa). Please be advised that this application programme is for full fee paying applicants only.
About the application
In your application, you will be asked to select which UWC school or schools you would like to apply to, and you can select up to five UWCs in your application. Please make sure you only select UWCs that you would be very happy to attend and that you have a good understanding of the fees, subject choices and extra-curricular activities of those schools. You can find out more about each school at uwc.org/schools.
Please be aware that each school has a different fee, and that there are no scholarships available from UWC International or the schools and colleges when applying through the UWC Global Selection Programme. You will therefore need to discuss your school choices with your parent(s)/guardian(s) before submitting your application to UWC. You can locate the fee ranges for each school here.
If you need financial aid to attend UWC, reach out to your country's UWC national committee instead. You can find your national committee's website and contact details here. UWC allows one single application submission per academic year selection. If you have already submitted an application through a UWC National Committee for the same entry year, you are not eligible to apply via the GSP.
In order to submit the application, you must pay an application fee. The application fee depends on the number of schools you choose to apply to in the application form and ranges from £180 to £300.
For this application period, you can apply to the following UWC schools:
UWC Atlantic - Wales, UK
UWC Changshu China - China
UWC Costa Rica - Costa Rica
UWC Dilijan - Armenia
UWC East Africa - Tanzania
UWC Li Po Chun - Hong Kong
UWC Maastricht - The Netherlands
UWC Mahindra College - India
UWC Pearson College - Canada
UWC Red Cross Nordic - Norway
UWC Thailand - Thailand
UWC-USA - USA
Waterford Kamhlaba UWCSA - Eswatini
Additionally, if you are a Chinese citizen residing in mainland China, please be aware that you can only apply to UWC via the Chinese National Committee.
You will be asked to enter your parent(s)/guardian(s) email address(es) so that they can fill in a parental/guardian consent form. Please note that we need to receive their consent forms before we can invite you for the online selection day. Your parent(s)/guardian(s) will also need to confirm that they are able to pay the full amount towards the school or college that you will be nominated to, if your application is successful.
Please note you are not permitted to use artificial intelligence programmes to help your application and we reserve the right to reject any applications that are submitted using AI.
After submitting your application
The UWC GSP reviews applications as they are received and invites shortlisted candidates to online selection days continuously
The review process involves a global team of selectors which review each application for suitability. Shortlisted candidates are invited to online selection days consisting of group activities, interviews, and emotional well-being assessments, all conducted in English.
Following the selection day, candidates are informed if they've been nominated for a place at a UWC school or college, indicating consideration but not acceptance. Nominated candidates must complete a medical form for assessment and support planning, with information treated confidentially.
If you have any questions about the application process please look at our website or contact globalselections@uwcio.uwc.org
We wish you the very best of luck with your application!
