INFORMATION FOR THE APPLICANT:
The UWC Selection Committee in Uzbekistan carefully reviews this application form. Please fill it out correctly and include all the requested information. Please also make sure that your parent(s) / guardian(s) has read all the information provided so that you understand the basis on which students are selected, as well as the principles of scholarship distribution.
A place at UWC is competitive and acceptance is based on personal attributes, intellectual ability, potential to thrive in a UWC environment, commitment to UWС ideals , and ability to cope at a UWC campus. Applicants are selected based on merit and potential regardless of religious, social or ethnic background.
UWC Uzbekistan recommends students to the admissions at different UWC colleges on the basis of the selection process. They generally accept the recommended candidates but reserve the right to decide the final acceptance or rejection of any candidate.
During a single admissions cycle, each applicant may submit only one application to UWC. Creating multiple accounts, using additional email addresses, or submitting multiple applications (including incomplete applications) is not permitted. Failure to comply with this rule may result in the disqualification of the application.
FILLING OUT THE APPLICATION FORM:
The application must be completed in English. The applicant must complete several tasks containing different information. These sections give UWC the opportunity to hear how and why you, in your own words, think that you are right for UWC and why UWC is right for you.
Watch this video tutorial on how the platform works (Please note: This video uses an older application form, so the questions differ. However, it still accurately shows how to navigate and use the platform).
ABOUT AI:
We want to get to know YOU through your written application, in YOUR words. It is therefore best if you speak with your own voice so that the UWC selection team can get an authentic picture of you.
Using AI to describe your life will not help your application, as AI will generate generic responses that do not allow the selection team to gain an understanding of you as an individual.
That being said, here is the IB stance on the usage of AI - Statement from the IB about ChatGPT and artificial intelligence in assessment and education - International Baccalaureate® (ibo.org). Failure to disclose the use of AI in your application may affect the outcome of your application.
Your parent(s) / guardian(s) must fill in Parent(s) / Guardian(s) Information and Authorization form to confirm their support of your decision to apply for a place at UWC and that you have understood all conditions for applying, including the financial terms and conditions.
You also will be asked to provide contact details of someone who can provide a community reference and school reference at a later stage of the selection process. The school and community references should preferably be in English.
The DEADLINE for the application is NO LATER THAN September 30th, 2026, 23:59, Tashkent time.
If you are invited to advance to the next stage of the selection process, the National Committee of Uzbekistan will contact you via email. Applicants who do not advance to the next round of the selection process will also receive notice of this via email.
INFORMATION FOR PARENT(S)/GUARDIAN(S):
It is vital that you understand all information regarding UWC and the commitment involved with the program offered. A short outline of the selection criteria and the process can be found on the UWC Uzbekistan website: www.uz.uwc.org or on UWC International webpage: www.uwc.org.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE:
The Uzbekistan Selection Committee selects students based on their qualifications and potential. Families of successful candidates will be invited to the Financial Assessment stage which is necessary to determine the scholarship amount.
While the selection is merit-based, all scholarships are need-based. The decision of the amount of the scholarship is based on the financial assessment form and supporting documents provided with it. Scholarship funds are limited and the need-based system allows to provide scholarship opportunities to candidates who really need them. Please be advised that candidates with the ability to pay for their own tuition fees are expected to contribute towards their own tuition, based on the family’s ability to contribute.
