INFORMATION FOR THE APPLICANT:
The UWC Selection Committee in Iran carefully reviews this application form. Please fill it out correctly and include all the requested information. Please also make sure that your family has read all the information provided so that you understand the basis on which students are selected, as well as the principals of scholarship distribution.
UWC Iran recommends students to the administrations at the different colleges on the basis of the selection process. The administrations of the different colleges generally accept the recommended candidates but reserve the right to decide the final acceptance or rejection of any candidate.
A place at a UWC is competitive and acceptance is based on personal attributes, intellectual ability, potential to thrive in a UWC environment, commitment to UWC ideals, and ability to cope at a UWC campus. Applicants are selected based on merit and potential regardless of religious, social, or ethnic background. If you are invited to advance to the next stage of the selection process, the Selection Committee will contact you via email. Applicants who do not advance to the next round of the selection process will also receive notice of this via email.
SELECTION PROCESS:
The goal of the selection process is to provide a mini UWC experience, select students that would go to UWC college, and empower every participant to ideate, initiate, and take steps to create positive sustainable changes in their community. For those who not only dream but do. We aim to bring you closer together. UWC is one of the ways of making a positive impact in the world, but not the only one. In our application, we are trying to challenge you to think deeper, reflect, dive into yourself, and explore. We challenge you to step out of your comfort zone and discover something new.
There are 3 stages in the selection process. All the stages are going to take place online.
- The first stage is the essay-based application. It takes place from September to October. (3rd of September, 2023 is the day when applications are open and 19th of October, 2023 is the day when they close) The results of the first stage would be released at the beginning of December.
- The second stage is the English/ Farsi one-on-one interview. It would take place sometime between December 2023 and January 2024. The results should be expected at the end of January.
- The third stage consists of a series of interactive activities. It includes group discussions, interviews in Farsi/ English, workshops, and group activities. The results of the third and final stage should be expected by the end of February.
THESE DATES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE PER THE NEEDS OF THE NATIONAL COMMITTEE
FINANCES:
The Iranian Selection Committee selects students on the basis of their qualifications and potential. Successful candidates are offered a place at one of the UWC Colleges. If the candidate requires financial support in order to attend a UWC college, he/she/they may apply for a scholarship. All scholarships are need-based and the decision of the amount of the scholarship is based on the financial assessment form and supporting documents provided with it. Scholarship funds are limited and the need-based system allows to provide scholarship opportunities to candidates who really need them.
Please be advised that candidates with the ability to pay for their own tuition fees are expected to make a contribution towards their own tuition, based on the family’s ability to contribute.
INFORMATION FOR PARENT(S)/GUARDIAN(S):
It is vital that you understand all information regarding UWC and the commitment involved with the program offered. A short outline of the degrees offered, selection criteria and the process can be found on the UWC International webpage: www.uwc.org, the information in Farsi can be found on UWC Iran's website (www.ir.uwc.org) and the UWC Iran Instagram page: @uwciran.
FILLING OUT THE APPLICATION FORM:
The applicant must complete several sections containing different information. These sections give UWC the opportunity to hear how and why you, in your own words, think that you are right for UWC and why UWC is right for you.
Your parents must fill in Parents Declaration Form to confirm their support of your decision to apply for a place at UWC and that you have understood all conditions for applying, including the financial terms and conditions.
Note that the application must be completed in English as our evaluators are from different countries. Your proficiency in the English Language is not a criterion in the selection. We do not evaluate anything related to your language skills. The committee will not help you to fill out the application. If you have never studied English and can provide proof of that; if you have no to very limited knowledge of the English language, you can contact the committee to share your concern. All non-English applications submitted without prior approval of the committee will be disregarded

کمیته‌یِِ ملی UWC برای ایران، بر اساس نتایج فرایند انتخاب، دانش‌آموزان را به مدارس UWC معرفی و توصیه می‌کند. مدارس مختلف معمولاً نامزدهای پیشنهادی را می‌پذیرند اما حق تصمیم گیری در مورد پذیرش یا رد نهایی هر نامزد را برای خود محفوظ می‌دارند.
برای پذیرش در UWC رقابت وجود دارد. افراد بر اساس ویژگی های شخصی، توانایی‌های فکری، وجودِ پتانسیل رشد در محیطِ UWC، تعهد به مطلوب‌ها و آرمان‌های UWC و توانایی کنار آمدن با محیطِ UWC سنجیده میشوند. متقاضیان تنها بر اساس شایستگی و پتانسیل، بدون توجه به پیش زمینه های مذهبی، اجتماعی یا قومی بررسی و انتخاب میشوند. اگر از شما برای شرکت در مرحله‌یِِ بعدی فرآیند انتخاب دعوت به عمل آید، کمیته‌یِِ انتخاب از طریق ایمیل با شما تماس می‌گیرد. همچنین متقاضیانی که از رسیدن به مراحل بالاتر انتخابی بازمانند، از طریق ایمیل مطلع میشوند.
پروسه‌‌‌یِ انتخاب:
فرآیند انتخاب قصد دارد تا با فراهم آوردن نمونه ای کوچک از تجربه‌یِِ حضور در UWC دانش آموزان را برای رفتن به مدارس UWC انتخاب کند و هر شرکت‌کننده را برای ایده پردازی، آغاز و گام‌برداشتن برای تحقق تغییرات پایدار و مثبت در جامعه‌یِِ خود توانمند سازد. ما قصد داریم کسانی را به هم نزدیک کنیم که نه تنها رویا پردازند، بلکه آن را به عمل می‌آورند. UWC تنها یکی از راه‌های بسیار برای ایجاد تأثیر مثبت در جهان است. در برنامه، ما سعی می‌کنیم تا شما را به چالش بکشیم که عمیق‌تر فکر کنید، تامل کنید، و در خود کندوکاو کنید. ما شما را به چالش های دعوت می‌کنیم که از حاشیه‌یِِِ امن و راحتِ خود خارج شوید و چیزهای جدیدی کشف کنید.
مراحل انتخاب از سه بخش تشکیل میشود. تمام مراحل به در بستر برخط (آنلاین) برگزار می شود.
۱- مرحله اول فرآیند انتخاب، نوشتن نوشتارهایی در پاسخ به سوالات مندرج در این تقاضانامه است. این مرحله از اکتبر/مهر تا اواسط آذر/دسامبر برگزار میشود. (۱۲ شهریور / ۳ سپتامبر، روز انتشار تقاضانامه ها است و تا ۲۷ مهر / ۱۹ اکتبر تقاضانامه ها پذیرفته می شوند) نتایج مرحله اول در اوایل دسامبر / اواخر آذر منتشر میشود.
۲- مرحله‌یِِِ دوم مصاحبه‌یِِِ شخصی انگلیسی/فارسی است. این مرحله بین دسامبر۲۰۲۳ تا ژانویه ۲۰۲۴ / آذر تا دی۱۴۰۲ برگزار میشود. نتایج در اوایل بهمن ماه مشخص شود.
۳- مرحله‌یِِِ سوم از یک سری فعالیتها تشکیل میشود که در طی دوهفته پراکنده شده‌اند. این فعالیتها شامل بحث‌های گروهی، مصاحبه هایِ فارسی/انگلیسی، کارسوق‌ها و فعالیت‌های گروهی است. نتایج مرحله‌یِِِ سوم و نهایی در اوایل ماه اسفند مشخص میشود.
تمامی این تاریخ ها بسته به نیاز کمیته‌ی ملی و شرایط امکان تغییر دارند.
امور و مسائل مالی:
کمیته‌یِِِ گزینش، دانشجویان را بر اساس شایستگی‌ها و پتانسیل‌های آنها انتخاب می‌کند. به دانش‌آموزهایی که در گزینش موفق شوند، مکانی در یکی از مدارسِ UWC اعطا میگردد. اگر داوطلب برای حضور در UWC نیاز به حمایت مالی داشته باشد، باید برای بورس تحصیلی تقاضا کند. کلیه بورس‌های تحصیلی مبتنی بر نیاز بوده و تصمیم گیری در مورد میزان بورس تحصیلی براساس فرم ارزیابی مالی و مدارک پشتیبان صورت می‌پذیرد. تعداد بورس‌های تحصیلی محدود هستند و سیستم مبتنی بر نیاز به شما این امکان را می‌دهد تا فرصت های بورس تحصیلی را برای نامزدهایی که واقعاً نیاز دارند فراهم شود.
از داوطلبانی که توانایی پرداخت شهریه خود را دارند، انتظار می‌رود تا بر اساس توانایی اقتصادیِ خانواده، در پرداخت شهریه‌یِِِ خود مشارکت کنند.

پر کردن فرم درخواست:
متقاضی باید چندین بخش متفاوت را که حاوی سوالات گوناگون هستند تکمیل کند. این اطلاعات به UWC این فرصت را می‌دهد تا از زبان خودتان بشنوند که چگونه و چرا فکر می‌کنید که برای UWC مناسب هستید و چرا UWC برای شما مناسب است.
والدین شما باید فرم اظهارنامه والدین را تکمیل نمایند. این فرم بیانگرِ تایید و حمایت آنها از تصمیم شما در پیوستن به UWC و آگاهی شما از همه شرایط درخواست‌نامه، از جمله شرایط و ضوابط مالی، است.
توجه داشته باشید از آنجایی که ارزیابان تقاضانامه ها از کشور های متفاوتی هستند، تقاضانامه باید به زبان انگلیسی تکمیل شود. مهارت شما در زبان انگلیسی ملاک انتخابِ شما نیست. هیچ موردی مربوط به مهارت های زبانیِ شما را ارزیابی نمی‌شود. کمیته به شما در پر کردن درخواست‌نامه کمک نخواهد کرد. اگر شما هرگز انگلیسی نخوانده‌اید و می‌توانید آن را اثبات کنید و یا اگر دانش کافی در زبان انگلیسی ندارید، می‌توانید با کمیته تماس بگیرید تا نگرانی خود را به اشتراک بگذارید. تقاضانامه های پرشده به زبان هایی غیر از انگلیسی مورد ارزیابی قرار نخواهند گرفت، مگر با تایید قبلی از کمیته‌ی ملی ایران.
هیچ تقاضانامه ای پس از ۱۹ اکتبر/ ۲۷ مهر پذیرفته نخواهد شد.
